JOB DESCRIPTION and QUALIFICATION:
The Accounting and Finance Section, SDU Business School at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense, invites applications for one or more tenure track positions as Assistant Professor of Finance starting on August 1st, 2027, or on a mutually agreed date. As part of our continued development, the Finance group expects to grow further in the coming years and welcomes candidates who would contribute to this expansion.
Job qualifications: We seek candidates with a strong research potential in Finance who must demonstrate the ability to publish in leading international journals within Finance. All fields of Finance are invited, but we particularly seek candidates with strong theoretical research skills within corporate finance and asset pricing. Applicants should have completed their PhD in Finance or a related area prior to starting. We also encourage seasoned candidates with a strong research pipeline and teaching experience to apply. Knowledge of Danish is not required for the position. The duration of the assistant professorship is six years. The position includes a tenure track. Tenure can be awarded at any point when the requirements are clearly exceeded.
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST PROCEDURE:
Candidates should submit their expression of interest package (cover letter, CV, research papers, three letters of reference, and transcripts) via econjobmarket.org. Interviews (online) begin in December, during the European Job Market 2026, and may continue into January 2027. This is not the official application process. The official process will be handled via the University recruitment system, so materials submitted to ECON must be submitted separately through that system.
