The Economics Department of Bocconi University invites applications for a postdoctoral research position.

The successful candidate will work closely with the supervisor (Professor Morelli), providing technical assistance and contributing to at least one of the following research areas:

• AI and labor market discrimination: understanding how artificial intelligence affects discrimination in labor markets and designing algorithms to address it.
• The political economy of welfare reforms beyond the national level: exploring institutional arrangements, particularly at the European level, that support sustainable welfare policies and defense.
• Progressive inclusion versus exclusion: developing theoretical frameworks to understand this emerging political divide and its economic and political implications.

These projects combine economic theory and algorithm design. We welcome applications from candidates who can contribute through quantitative analysis and programming, theoretical modeling, or a combination of these approaches. Candidates with either theoretical or empirical research interests are encouraged to apply.
