Tenure-Track Professor Positions in Corporate finance and Investments

Job Description & Qualifications

The Department of Finance at Université du Québec à Montréal (École des sciences de la gestion) invites applications from highly qualified candidates for two tenure-track professor positions, one specializing in corporate finance and the other in investments. The successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate student research, develop and maintain a strong research program, and contribute to the department’s academic excellence and visibility.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

• Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including developing and updating course content and assessing student performance.
• Supervise and evaluate graduate student research.
• Conduct research in the field.
• Participate in service activities that contribute to the department’s administration and its engagement with the broader community.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A PhD in finance or related field, completed or near completion.
• At least three years of relevant professional experience, including doctoral research activities.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct academic research in finance.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a dynamic academic environment.
• Ability, upon appointment, to teach courses in corporate finance or investments as well as certain required courses in one of the department’s fields of study.
• Proficiency in spoken and written French.*

* Adequate proficiency in French (Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is an essential condition for obtaining tenure. One-on-one French language tutoring may be offered.
