The Banque de France is planning to recruit several experienced or new Ph.D.s in economics, econometrics and finance for its headquarters in Paris. This year, areas of particular interest are macroeconomics (growth and productivity, economics of climate change, monetary macroeconomics, international economics (trade, international finance, etc), European macroeconomics, applied macroeconomics and forecasting), and applied microeconomics (innovation and R&D, industrial organization, public policy evaluation).

The Banque de France provides an excellent work and research environment. The main tasks of the potential candidates will be to conduct high-quality policy-oriented research, publishable in international refereed journals, to produce reports and briefings for the Banque’s senior management, to contribute to the Banque's publications and to the development of its modelling toolbox.

Candidates will be expected to travel and participate in meetings organized by international institutions as well as interact with the academic community in their field of expertise. Three-year fixed-term, full-time contracts are offered. Knowledge of French as a working language would be an asset. Salary and benefits vary with experience and are competitive on a European scale.

Applicants should e-mail a CV, a sample of recent research and arrange for at least two reference letters to be sent to 1476-JOBMARKET-UT@banque-france.fr. Applications should be sent before 31 October, midnight Paris time. Incomplete application files will not be considered.

Candidates should indicate whether they will be available for interviews at the EEA job market in Rotterdam (Netherlands, 18-19 December 2019). We also plan to conduct interviews in Paris and on the phone for Europe-based applicants who may not be able to travel to Rotterdam.
