The Macrofinance Lab at the University of Bonn is looking for a
Postdoctoral Research Fellow (E13 TV-L, 100%, 6 years)
in macro-finance, empirical macroeconomics, financial history,
and related fields.
The successful candidate will join an international team of researchers at the Macrofinance Lab at the University of Bonn. The fellow will work cooperate with the Director of the Macrofinance Lab, Prof. Moritz Schularick, and the ECONtribute Excellence Cluster. The appointment will be for a period of up to six years.
The Macrofinance Lab is a leading research center in the fields of macro-finance, empirical macroeconomics, international finance and financial history. It pursues an ambitious research agenda with regular publications in top journals and visibility in the international policy debate. Alumni of the Macrofinance Lab have joined top economics and finance departments in Europe and North America.
Core research projects are currently funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and the German research foundation (DFG). These projects focus on housing markets, monetary policy and financial stability, international financial integration as well as inequality. The Macrofinance Lab organizes a weekly seminar with distinguished international guests and maintains the Jordà-Schularick-Taylor Database. The successful candidate will have an ambitious research agenda, excellent quantitative skills, as well as interest in playing a leading role in developing and coordinating the future work of the Macrofinance Lab. German language skills are not required. Teaching obligations are limited and can be arranged flexibly.
Salary is dependent on experience and is in the range of EUR 50,000 to EUR 58,000 (gross) per annum accord- ing to dispositions for postdoctoral fellows. Additional funds for research visits, conference travel, research visits and research assistance will be available.
Requirements for a postdoctoral fellow:
· PhD in economics, finance, or economic history
· Publishing record or evidence of potential to publish in leading journals
