IE University’s School of Global and Public Affairs (IEGPA) and IE Business School (IEBS) invite applications for 1 or 2 tenure-track joint appointment Assistant Professor positions in Economics. We are looking for Microeconomists whose research interests focus on Public Economics, Political Economy, Behavioral Economics or Game Theory. We are especially interested in scholars whose research lies at the intersection of economics, technological change, and innovation. The candidate will have a dual appointment with the IEGPA and the IEBS.

The successful candidate should show potential to publish in top peer-reviewed economic journals. Candidates must possess strong teaching skills and have a PhD in Economics or a related field by July 2019. He/She is expected to teach introductory Economics courses as well as more specialized courses in Game Theory, Behavioral Economics and/or Research Methods, based on his/her expertise, at both the undergraduate and Master level.

Beyond these traditional academic criteria, we seek academics with the capacity to engage in policy relevant work, and with a commitment to institution-building: applying for research grants, participating in affiliated research centers and academic programs, and expanding the IE's current network and partnerships.

 

Applications should include a cover letter  indicating the job market conferences they are attending-, a vita, a job market paper, three academic references, and evidence of teaching excellence (e.g. teaching evaluations). Candidates must have a PhD in Economics or a related field or demonstrate clear evidence that the PhD will be complete by July, 2019. Please send all materials by November 15th, 2019.
