NHH in Bergen, Norway, invites applicants for a three-year postdoctoral position in Environmental Economics or Natural Resource Economics at the Department of Economics. Applicants within the fields of Development Economics, International Economics or Macroeconomics with interests related to the environment or natural resources are also encouraged to apply.

We are looking for an excellent economist with expected completion of PhD no later than date of commencement. The department will emphasize international experience and qualifications in the assessment of applicants. In the event of equivalent qualifications, the department will give preference to female applicants.

The position is part of the Research Centre for Macroeconomics and Natural Resources. We are looking for candidates with background in applied econometrics or applied economic theory interested in economic questions related to natural resources, energy, and the environment. The postdoctoral researcher will have the flexibility to pursue their own research agenda within the relevant topics. The position will involve moderate administrative duties and no teaching responsibilities, unless otherwise agreed with the candidate.

The department has high ambitions in terms of research. In addition to Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, the main research fields are Applied Labor Economics, Applied Microeconomics, Behavioral Economics, Development Economics, Industrial Organization and Macroeconomics.

The position is based in Bergen, but research travel will be encouraged and there are also opportunities for research stays at collaborating institutions.
