Ca’ Foscari University of Venice invites expressions of interest for at least two positions at the Economics department as assistant professors. We are particularly interested in candidates with a research interest in macroeconomics (either theory or empirical), in applied micro (labour, ageing, household finance, development, education, etc) and in econometrics.

The department offers a junior and a senior position, depending on qualifications.

The Junior assistant professorship (“ricercatore a tempo determinato tipo a, rtdA”) is a fixed term lectureship for three years with the possibility of an extension for two more years conditional on a positive evaluation by the department. There is also the possibility to apply for tenure track positions before the end of the contract.

The Senior assistant professorship (“ricercatore a tempo determinato tipo b, rtdB”) is a five years tenure track position. Tenure will be granted based on positive evaluation of the department and on obtaining the Italian national habilitation to associate professorship.

The Department offers courses taught in English both at undergraduate and graduate level, therefore knowledge of Italian is neither required nor advantageous.

Ca’ Foscari is ranked in the top 250 to 300 universities in the QS World University Rankings by subject for Economics and Econometrics and in the RePEc ranking. The Economics department is ranked first in Italy for Econometrics and third for Economics (ANVUR ranking). The Department of Economics provides a vibrant international environment in the heart of Venice and has strong national and international ties, a successful record in applications for EU research funding and attracts high quality graduate and postgraduate students. We recently received a conspicuous funding by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research under the program “Departments of Excellence”.

Given the Italian regulation applying to the rtdA and rtdB positions, we will only consider candisated that
