Extent of employment:

  • Full time, 40 hours/week

Main tasks:

  • Independent research in the fields Behavioral and Experimental Economics and Finance
  • Teaching and mentoring of students
  • Contributions to the university self-administration are expected

Necessary qualifications:

  • Completed PhD/doctoral degree in the area of economics or social sciences or related disciplines.
  • Excellent knowledge of research in Behavioral and Experimental Economics and Finance and academic achievements beyond the dissertation/PhD thesis in this field.
  • Highly elaborated knowledge in research methods, particularly in theoretical and experimental research.
  • Particular focus on theory-driven lab and field experiments, studies combining experimental and empirical data, and/or online experiments.
  • Independent high quality teaching experiences; ability to teach in English (immediately) and willingness to teach in German (no later than 5 years after start of employment).
  • Basic knowledge of German (B2-level or the willingness to acquire this level in due course).
  • Post-doc or other related employment history (for at least several months) after the PhD in the field of Behavioral and Experimental Economics and Finance.
  • Experience in third party funding
  • Academic mobility (during/after PhD) and embedding in an international academic network in the field of Behavioral and Experimental Economics and Finance.
  • Social competence, in particular teamwork abilities; co-operation and communication skills to facilitate an interdisciplinary dialogue between science and society.

Remuneration:

The salary for this position will be at least € 3.804 / month before taxes (14x per year). The salary may be higher with relevant work experience. Furthermore the University of Innsbruck provides numerous attractive further provisions (https://www.uibk.ac.at/universitaet/zusatzleistungen/).
