The Department of Economics is a leading centre for research and undergraduate and postgraduate education. It has research strengths in theoretical, experimental and behavioural economics; financial economics and econometrics; health economics; macroeconomics; international trade; urban economics; and industrial organisation. The Department delivers a growing PhD Programme alongside its highly successful BSc and MSc programmes and is part of the South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS) Doctoral Training Partnerships funded by the ESRC.

Responsibilities

The Department is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic as Lecturer in Economics to conduct world-leading or internationally excellent research and to contribute to the delivery of the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate education.

Person Specification

The appointed candidate will have a record of producing world-leading or internationally excellent research in Economics, with a clear publication plan for submissions for future REF exercises; and the commitment and capability to deliver high quality education. The Department is particularly interested in candidates with interests in Health Economics and, more generally, Applied Microeconomics. Those with world-leading or internationally excellent research in other fields are also encouraged to apply.
