The Institute of Economics of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Lugano, Switzerland is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral position.

Applications received by December 1, 2021 will be given priority. The starting date is October 1, 2021, but an earlier or later date is also possible.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Economics or Finance before taking up the position. The appointment is initially for up to three years with annual renewals. The university provides support with all applications.

The research focus of the position is on empirical topics broadly related to household finance, specifically to the relationship between individual earnings risk and housing market risk. The ideal candidate has research interests in applied economics, in particular in household finance, public economics, urban economics, applied macroeconomics, or a related field.

The Institute of Economics at USI offers an exciting research environment, competitive terms and conditions, and generous research support. The annual salary ranges from CHF 80,000 to 85,000 (USD 87,000-93,000). Knowledge of Italian is not a requirement. USI is one of the academic partners of the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI).
