The Econometric Institute at Erasmus University Rotterdam invites applications for three-year non-tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level starting in September 2021 or a mutually agreed date. There are multiple positions in the areas of econometrics, quantitative finance, quantitative marketing, operations research, computational statistics, machine learning, data science, and computer science.

Applicants should have (or be very near completion of) a PhD by the start date. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in research and teaching and a commitment to university service.

The compensation package is competitive at the European level and includes several secondary benefits. Favorable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.

About the Econometric Institute

The Econometric Institute has a long and strong research tradition in econometrics, statistics, data science, and operations research, with 50 faculty members across these areas. Research at the Econometric Institute focuses on developing novel methods in econometrics and operations research, and on applications of such methods in finance, marketing, macroeconomics, transportation and logistics.

The Econometric Institute is part of an active research community within the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE). ESE is one of the largest and most successful economics schools in Europe, offering excellent research facilities to its faculty. The school offers an (international) bachelor and master program in econometrics and operations research, attracting 450 bachelor and 250 new master students per year.

ESE faculty members actively participate in the teaching and research activities of the Tinbergen Institute and the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM). In addition, there is a close cooperation with other schools of the university such as the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) via the research institute ERIM.
