The Department of Economics at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in any area of Economics. Lecturers are equivalent to tenure track Assistant Professors.

We invite applications from all fields, but are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in Applied (Micro-) Econometrics and in Macroeconomics/Finance/Macroeconometrics/Financial Econometrics.

Successful candidates will have demonstrable potential in research (both in terms of publications and grant capture) as well as high quality teaching. Furthermore, we are looking for evidence that candidates are able to play an active role in one or more of our five dynamic research groups (see below) and to contribute to our specialist research themes: Innovation and Productivity; Governance of Systems and Institutions; Social Determinants of Health; and Sustainable Living. Successful candidates are also expected to deliver high quality teaching, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to attract and successfully supervise PhD students.

The Department of Economics at the University of Bath promotes a vibrant research environment through the aforementioned specialist research themes and our five dynamic research groups: (I) Macroeconomics and Finance (II) Econometrics, (III) Economic Theory, (IV) Public and Environmental Economics, and (V) Labour/Education/Health Economics.

Our research activities inform students’ learning and encourage the interaction between academia and the wider society in terms of policy formulation, outcome evaluation and knowledge transfer to businesses and public organisations.
