The Department of Economics in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. The start date for the position is August 2022.

The Department seeks candidates in the following areas: (1) economics of pharmaceuticals markets, biotechnology and health; and (2) economic policy, specializing in micro-econometric policy. Strength in econometric methods is highly desirable.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Economics (or expect to complete the degree by August 2022), show evidence of effective and high-quality teaching at the collegiate level, and evidence of a sustained program of high-quality research and publications. Potential for securing external funding is highly desirable. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and actively contribute to a vibrant interdisciplinary culture that spans Rensselaer's communities.

Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is the nation’s first technological university. With approximately 5,000 undergraduates and 2,500 graduate students from around the world, the university offers more than 145 programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. Rensselaer is located in Troy, NY, the heart of the “Tech Valley” region of the Hudson River Valley.
