The Department of Economics is an independent part of Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) - the most research-intensive business school in the UK (REF 2014). With over 40 members of faculty from more than 15 countries, the Department provides an international, collegial and dynamic research environment with a commitment to world-class academic excellence.
We are currently looking to fill a tenure track position at the level of Lecturer (i.e., equivalent to Assistant Professor) across the applied micro fields of Labour, Health, Education, or Development Economics. The ideal candidate should have a PhD Economics or related field by the time of the appointment and demonstrate the potential to publish in internationally recognised journals. The jobholder will be expected to participate fully in the intellectual life of the department, to maintain a high-quality research agenda that reaches out to external networks of collaborators as well as contributing to research activities within the Department and the School. This will include participating in externally funded collaborative research projects as well as seeking funding for one’s own projects. The teaching responsibilities will consist of a contribution to core subjects at any level in the research areas of the jobholder, as well as supervision of MSc and PhD students.
