The Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor. The role holder will be expected to undertake internationally leading research in the field of real estate finance, to teach in that field in the Department's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to make a general contribution to the field and to the running and management of the Department.

Research in the Department of Land Economy is multi-disciplinary, drawing on the disciplines of economics, law, planning and urban social sciences to analyse the role and use of land, real estate and environment within an economy, focusing on markets, governance and regulation. Our research work is typically applied and policy-relevant: much of it is empirical in nature. We have an undergraduate programme that reflects that applied, multi-disciplinary focus; taught Masters programmes in Environmental Policy, Planning, Growth and Regeneration; and Real Estate Finance; and an extensive doctoral programme.

The Department has research clusters in Real Estate and Urban Analysis and in Environmental Policy and Regulation and a number of active research centres including the Cambridge Real Estate Research Centre, the Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance, the Rural Business Unit, the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research Centre and the Cambridge Centre for Property Law.

The person appointed will be encouraged to work with the Cambridge Real Estate Research Centre, but also with other centres where appropriate, to; to identify sources of funding for such research and to build on and expand our network of contacts working in those areas.
