The Department of Economics at Simon Fraser University is inviting applications for two full-time tenure-track appointments at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The expected start date is on or after July 1, 2023. Preference will be given to candidates employing theoretical, empirical or computational approaches to microeconomics, especially in the fields of trade, environment, history, health, IO, public, and political economy. However, strong candidates in all fields will be given serious consideration.
Excellence in research and teaching are the primary criteria for this position. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Economics or a closely related field completed by the employment start date or shortly thereafter.
The candidates will, depending on rank, have developed or demonstrate the potential for developing:
· a strong record of research productivity commensurate with their experience;
· a successful research program;
· excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level;
· successful supervision of graduate students.
Appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications. For Assistant Professor, only those eligible to be appointed or promoted to the rank will be considered. For Associate Professor, only those holding or expected to hold the rank at the start of the employment will be considered.
