Located in central Sydney, the e61 Institute and the Department of Economics at Macquarie University invites applications for a 2-year Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship.

The e61 Institute is Australia’s leading data-driven economic research institute, with a world-class research team with amazing data access and overseen by an eminent global network of academic fellows, including co-founder Greg Kaplan (University of Chicago). e61 seeks economic researchers who can combine innovative data with state-of-the-art economics and data science tools to answer important economic policy questions. The Department of Economics is a research-oriented department with undergraduate, masters, and PhD programs.

We encourage applications from candidates with strong applied economics skills. You will be working with unique micro-data, including financial transactions data and matched employer-employee administrative data. Your responsibilities will include working with world-class researchers to produce high-quality policy-relevant economic research. This position is distinct from the Assistant Professor position advertised for Macquarie University’s Department of Economics.

Salary: AUD $134,645 to $154,843 plus 17% superannuation.
