The ZEW is a non-profit organization and works in the field of frontierempirical economic research and high-level policy advice. It is integrated into an extensive national and international network of universities and research institutes. The ZEW is looking to fill the following position in the Research Department "Digital Economy"

Tenure-Track Postdoctoral Researcher (100 %, f/m/d) Digital Economy

As a successful applicant, you will contribute to the department’s scientific research agenda as well as its economic policy advising projects. You will conduct scientific research with the goal of publication in high-level scientific journals and engage in economic policy advising projects with high visibility among economic decision makers and the general public.

The position is suitable for researchers who have completed or are about to complete their PhD in economics, preferably on a topic in the area ‘Digital Economy’. Candidates should have a strong interest for theory-based, empirical or experimental analyses, in-depth knowledge of econometrics and programming skills. English is the department’s working language; command of German is not required, but highly appreciated.

We offer a full-time, tenure-track position for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of extension for another three years. The position comes without any teaching responsibilities and the salary is internationally competitive (including public sector benefits such as generous annual leave).

ZEW’s close links with the University of Mannheim next door, its vast international network of partner institutions as well as the great number of projects involving international cooperation offer many exciting opportunities for future career development. ZEW also provides active support to postdocs in advancing their postdoctoral qualification, for example by supporting research visits at prestigious universities and research institutions abroad.

ZEW is an equal opportunity employer. In order to increase the number of women in leading research positions, we specifically encourage qualified female applicants to apply.

IF INTERESTED, please submit your application (including cover letter, CV, job market paper and reference letters) by 04th of December 2022 via the online application form on our website. We will interview selected candidates online on 12 – 13 December 2022.
