The Faculty of Economics and Management Science, Institute for Theoretical Economics, Professorship of Macroeconomics, seeks to fill the above position at the earliest opportunity.
The Professorship of Macroeconomics works in a theory-based, quantitative and applied manner. With respect to the advertised position, the analysis of the interaction between climate change and economic growth as well as the growth and distributional impacts of climate change are particularly significant.
A special focus of the post-doctoral position will be on interdisciplinary research with colleagues from meteorology. Leipzig University is currently establishing numerous cross-faculty initiatives between economists and natural scientists, e. g. the planned Cluster of Excellence "Breathing Nature" and the planned Research Training Group "ECO-N - The Economics of the Natural Commons." This dynamic environment will support the postdoctoral position with joint cross-disciplinary and data-driven research in an urban context.
About the position
• Fixed term until December 31, 2024
• 100 % of a full-time position
• Planned remuneration: salary group 13 TV-L
Duties
• conduct quantitative applied research projects with a focus on climate change and economic growth
• conduct independent research as part of an interdisciplinary team in support of the proposed Cluster of Excellence "Breathing Nature," an interdisciplinary initiative on the interactions between climate, biodiversity, and society
• guidance of research assistants with regard to data search and analysis
Requirements
• completed scientific university studies as well as doctorate in the field of economics or equivalent relevant qualification
• experience in the numerical solution of dynamic general equilibrium models
• knowledge of modern climate macro models
• enjoyment of research, willingness to learn and ability to work in a team
