Assistant Professorship

The Department of Economics invites applications from strong candidates in any field of specialisation. The number of posts available will depend on funding and the Departments requirements. These posts are subject to budgetary approval.

You will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate students in Economics and/or Econometrics, as well as carrying out research.

You must have expertise and research interests in Economics and/or Econometrics, as well as an ability to establish an international reputation in these fields and have excellent written and oral communication skills.

You will have completed a PhD, or be close to obtaining a PhD, in Economics or a related discipline by the post start date. You should

You will have a track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications. Furthermore, you will have a proven ability, evidenced by existing publications, potential to publish in top journals, or with leading book publishers in Economics and/or Econometrics. You will also have a clear, well developed, and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications.

Salary is competitive with Departments at our peer institutions worldwide. The minimum starting salary for Assistant Professor at the LSE is £61,446 pa inclusive. In addition, this post attracts a significant market salary supplement which reflects current market conditions.
