Two Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Positions

Department of Econometrics and OR, Tilburg School of Economics and Management, Tilburg University, The Netherlands

Application deadline: November 12, 2023

The Department of Econometrics and OR at Tilburg University’s School of Economics and Management invites applications for two assistant professor positions in econometrics and applied micro- or macroeconomics.

Candidates should have a keen interest in econometrics, show outstanding research potential, and are expected to teach in our bachelor, master, and/or PhD program in Economics. Applicants should hold a PhD degree upon appointment. Junior assistant professors and postdocs are also invited to apply. To increase the number of women in leading academic positions, we especially encourage women to apply.

The Econometrics group of the Department of Econometrics and OR works on empirical and theoretical economics, econometrics, and finance. We offer a vibrant and collegial environment that fosters excellent research and fruitful collaborations among faculty members, with a high-quality graduate school (CentER).

The positions offer ample opportunity for research and carry a light teaching load (approximately one course per semester). Knowledge of Dutch is not required. We offer competitive European salaries. Researchers from outside the Netherlands can apply for a tax-free allowance equal to 30% of their taxable salary (for the first five years of their stay in the Netherlands). The University offers generous fringe benefits, including a generous pension scheme and relocation assistance.

Application instructions:

To apply, please create an applicant account at econjobmarket.org, and upload a cover letter, CV, a job market paper, and three recommendation letters (required). You may also upload research and teaching statements and additional papers (optional).

The Department of Economics in Tilburg is also recruiting this year. Candidates should apply separately to the departments in which they are interested.

Initial interviews will take place on Zoom during the 2023 European Job Market for Economists, from December 11-14, 2023.
