Lecturer (Teaching Track) for Nanyang Centre for Public Administration

Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA) at NTU Singapore is a leading institution in Asia that provides quality education and research in public governance and administration development as well as promotes good governance in the region and beyond. We offer 6 programs, in English and Chinese, to meet the education needs at early, mid, and advanced career stages. Faculty on the Teaching Track is expected to teach well and contribute to NCPA’s education objectives.

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

  • PhD in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, Management, or other related advanced degrees.

  • Ability to teach postgraduate-level courses in English and/or Chinese specializing in Applied Economics, Finance and Macroeconomic Policy, Public Management/Public Administration, Politics and Public Policy (especially in Asia), Technology Policy and AI Governance, or related areas.

  • A record of teaching in tertiary educational institutes for similar subjects is strongly preferred.

  • Interest in developing new courses in your specialization. Providing 2-3 synopsis of courses you are keen to teach (have or have not taught) is strongly encouraged.

  • Demonstrated potential for scholarship in a research area undertaken by NCPA is an advantage. These areas include (but are not limited to) Asian governance, talent strategies and digital regulations.

  • Candidates for the Lecturer position should have experiences in the relevant areas of teaching and course development.

Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) is ranked among the world’s top universities.

The School of Social Sciences (SSS) is part of NTU Singapore’s College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CoHASS), whose students and scholars actively collaborate in fields ranging from philosophy to design, to understand how people in Asia and beyond act in and make sense of the world. CoHASS is Asia’s leading centre for innovative, interdisciplinary Humanities, Arts and Social Science research.

The Economics Programme under the School of Social Sciences (SSS) consists of 29 full-time faculty members and offers degrees at the undergraduate, MSc, and PhD levels. The Programme has established recognised strengths in applied economics and behavioural economics, alongside core areas of econometrics, macroeconomics, and development. Faculty members regularly publish in leading international journals, engage in interdisciplinary collaborations, and contribute to policy debates in Singapore and beyond. NTU Economics hosted the 2023 Asian Meeting of the Econometric Society, the primary Asian meeting selected by the Asian Regional Standing Committee of the Econometric Society.

Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Economics of Health and Aging

The School of Social Sciences at NTU has one opening for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in Economics of Health and Aging. Strong candidates in this field will be considered.

Selection will be based on evidence of potential for high-quality research and teaching. Relevant post-doctoral experience will be given consideration. Candidates should possess or expect to obtain a PhD degree by August 2026.

The successful candidate is expected to teach and develop courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including General Education courses, as well as supervise graduate students and undergraduate projects.
