Your position
The CRESE invites applications for a 12-18 month Postdoctoral Researcher position in Economics. The postdoctoral contract is part of a work package within the project “The Political Economy of Populism”, coordinated by Alexandre Chirat and funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) for the period October 2025 to October 2028 (Grant ANR-25-CE26-2354).
We are looking for an applied economist with strong quantitative skills (econometrics, MCA, LLM), programming experience in R or Python, and a motivation to combine rigorous research with social impact. Alongside their independent research, the recruited candidate will work on the economic policy platforms of populist parties.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Alexandre Chirat (CRESE – Marie and Louis Pasteur University, Besançon), Gilles Ivaldi (Sciences Po Paris), and Emilie Sartre (University of Nottingham) on this project, as well as with research assistants. The project aims for at least one major publications in a top economics journal.
The postdoctoral researcher is expected to have a strong profile to contribute to all aspects of the project, including data collection, text analysis, refinement of the coding scheme, application of econometric techniques, and drafting of the paper. The job is fully devoted to research with no teaching obligations and may involve supervising research assistants. The postdoctoral research associate will be also encouraged to take an active part in the academic life of the CRESE.

CRESE (Center for Research on Economic Strategies) is a French research center created in 1985 and attached to the faculty of Law, Economics, Politics and Management at the Marie and Louis Pasteur University, Besançon.

Other courses that the appointee may be asked to teach include UG courses in finance (172 and 173), MS level courses in agricultural economics and finance (223, 271), and PhD level courses in empirical methods (202B, 202C), and agricultural economics (231, 232, and 233). In particular, the candidate will be expected to teach in the undergraduate joint business major, managerial economics major, and the graduate program. Teaching responsibilities will be up to four courses per year, taking rank into account and will be set by the department chair based upon departmental needs and the successful candidate’s interests/expertise. Position Description
Columbia University’s Department of Economics seeks to fill a chair in the Economics of the Middle East, with a joint appointment at the Institute for Israeli and Jewish Studies. We seek scholars in any field of economics with an outstanding publication record and who have ongoing research or engagement with the economics of the Middle East that includes the study of the Israeli economy and economic issues in the region. Successful candidates will be willing to teach an undergraduate course in the Economics of the Middle East, as well as train and mentor interested graduate students. The appointment, to begin as early as July 1, 2026, can be at any tenure-track rank, with a preference for a tenured appointment.

The Department of Economics at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Faculty of Economics and Business, Reus, Catalonia, Spain) invites applications for three Assistant Professorships in all fields of Economics.
Note that one of the three offered positions (profile Economic Theory) must be filled by the end of December 2025. Recruitment starts immediately and we will expedite the process to reach a decision.
For the remaining two positions applications can be submitted up to March 2026. However, we encourage to apply as soon as possible as we will also immediately start the process of reviewing and contacting candidates until the positions are filled.
We are looking for outstanding candidates from internationally well-recognized PhD programs. Priority will be given to candidates with at least 1 year of post-doctoral experience.
With respect to teaching responsibilities, the selected candidates are expected to initially teach in the undergraduate program and supervise students’ work. Teaching will be either in Catalan or Spanish, with the possibility of teaching partially in English. To facilitate the candidate’s research activity, teaching load is reduced below regular course work for tenured faculty.
The successful applicants are expected to prove potential for publication in top-ranked journals. Also, the successful candidates should collaborate with the established research groups of the Department in applying for external research funding, and contributing to knowledge exchange and dissemination of research results.
The Department of Economics aims to conduct research in a broad range of areas within Economics and offers undergraduate and graduate programs at the highest level. The Department employs approximately 40 faculty members and 10 PhD students. Our senior faculty members have a well-recognized publication record and are internationally connected. In addition, there is group of junior researchers coming from high-quality PhD programs that have recently joined the Department.
We focus on the recruitment of excellent national and international researchers. Our research and degree programs have a strong international focus. The Department hosts several research centers and external funding of research activities is a top priority.

We are especially interested in candidates who can provide intellectual leadership in macroeconomics, labor economics, or industrial organization.
