Intended starting date is 1 April 2024, but a later date is possible. The contract duration is for three years. An extension may be possible.
Our research
Our team studies the conduct of fiscal and monetary policy as well as the sources of business cycles with new tools that allow us to take heterogeneity into account in models and data. Current projects focus on the development of higher order perturbation solutions for HANK models, understanding the impact of aggregate risk on inequality, asset pricing with many risks, and optimal fiscal/monetary policy.

The post-doctoral position is a full-time position with teaching obligation of 2 hours per week. It is 50% funded through the ERC Starting Grant “Aggregate and Idiosyncratic Risk in Macroeconomics” (101114991 — AIRMAC — ERC-2023-STG).
The successful candidate will be engaged in exploring topics in research related to macroeconomic consequences of the feedback loop between aggregate and idiosyncratic risk as well as heterogeneity in the exposure to it. We offer:
· A dynamic, internationally oriented, collaborative and friendly research environment
· High quality research seminar series in economics and management studies
· Ample funding to finance conference trips, hire student research assistants, invite coauthors etc.
Your profile
We are seeking a highly motivated, curiosity-driven candidate that holds (or is about to finish) a Ph.D. in economics or a related discipline (e.g., computer or data science). The candidate should have a keen interest and strong background in international, organizational or innovation economics broadly defined. Fluency in English is indispensable.
