The Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW) seeks applications for a position as

Postdoctoral Researcher – Kiel-CEPR Berlin Fellow

For the new Kiel-CEPR Research Hub in Berlin, we are looking to hire a postdoctoral researcher for a one-year Kiel-CEPR Postdoc fellowship position. The joint Kiel-CEPR Research Hub is set to host leading international guests, engage in highest-level research, offer an appealing seminar lineup and foster close links with the CEPR network.

The position is strongly research oriented in international economics and neighboring fields. There is no teaching obligation and no administrative burden. Most importantly, you will be expected to work on relevant, high-quality research and to publish in leading economics journals. You may be involved in the policy activities of the Kiel Institute, although ideally the policy work should be based on your research output.

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:

· PhD in economics or a related field (completed or close to completion).

· Strong academic record and outstanding research potential.

· The working language is English; excellent English skills are therefore required. Some knowledge of German would be useful, but is not essential.

· First publications are an asset but not a requirement.

The planned contract period is for one year (starting in the summer/fall of 2024). The salary will be based on the German public sector pay scale at grade EG 13 TV L and will therefore be between 52.000 and 75.000 € gross annually (depending on work experience). The position is full-time.

The Kiel Institute for the World Economy values diversity. We welcome applications regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion/belief, disability, age or sexual orientation. We strive for equal participation of women in all employee groups. Professional gender equality is guaranteed. The Kiel Institute is an equal opportunity employer with a certified family-friendly policy (https://www.ifw-kiel.de/institute/career-education/equal-opportunity/). We are committed to employing persons with recognized disabilities and will therefore give them preference over persons without disabilities if they are equally qualified. We welcome all applications, regardless of nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion/belief, age and sexual orientation.

Please submit your application online, using the Econ Job market portal for economists: https://econjobmarket.org/positions. We start reviewing applications immediately and follow the European job market process. Please include a letter of interest, your CV, transcripts of your academic record and your job market paper and make sure letters of reference are linked to your application. Application photos should not be included. For additional information, please contact Prof. Sonja Peterson (sonja.peterson@ifw-kiel.de).
