Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics (Católica Lisbon: www.clsbe.lisboa.ucp.pt/) invites applications for a position in Economics, to start September 1, 2024. All levels of seniority will be considered. We are looking for applicants with strong research potential or track record of top publications in all areas of Economics. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Research Environment

Católica-Lisbon provides a vibrant research environment. The core research faculty consists of more than 40 members, with doctorates from top North American and European programs. Our research unit received the highest rating for research excellence in Portugal among all social science units, when evaluated by an international panel.
Faculty in Economics have published in journals such as the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of International Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics, and Review of Economic Studies.

Position Requirements
Applicants should have earned a PhD in Economics from a recognized school by the date of the appointment. Junior candidates must demonstrate the potential to publish in top economics journals. For Associate positions, candidates are expected to show a strong research track record, excellence in teaching, and the ability to add to the research reputation and productivity of the group.

Salary is competitive, and funding for research-related activities, including travel to international conferences, is provided. In addition, faculty are encouraged to apply for research funding from the Portuguese Science Foundation and from European funding agencies.

Tenure-track faculty are expected to teach the equivalent of 3 courses per year, in English.

Interviews will be conducted remotely in the first week of January 2024. Selected candidates will then be invited for campus visits.
