The Economics Department at the University of Alicante invites applications for a post-doctoral position, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. The position is for two years, with possible extension to a tenure-track assistant professorship.
The desired start date is 01/09/2024 but this is flexible.
Faculty at our department work in behavioral economics, experimental economics, uncertainty and risk, cognition and complexity and microeconomic theory and we especially encourage researchers working in these fields to apply. But we are open to any application from microeconomics. The candidates are expected to conduct high-quality research in their field of interest. The position has limited teaching (at most 60 hours per year). Teaching will be in the new Master´s Program in “Economics and Data Sciences”. For that reason, candidates who use machine-learning tools in their research are encouraged to apply.
Gross annual salary is 34,000 euros, approximately. This means a net salary of about 2150 Euros, after all tax and social security deductions (including health insurance). Living cost in Alicante are lower than in many other European cities, while quality of life is high. The department has a collaborative and supportive working culture, which extends beyond the University of Alicante´s beautiful campus.

Requirements:
- Applicants are required to hold a Ph.D. degree in Economics or related field before September 2024.
