The position is part of the Centre of Excellence, FAIR, and is funded by the Norwegian Research Council through Grant Number 344979. The project aims to open the black box of news demand using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and will be conducted in collaboration with Felix Chopra (University of Copenhagen) and Chris Roth (University of Cologne).

The position comes with no teaching or administrative responsibilities and is intended for an excellent recent Ph.D. graduate in economics. The ideal candidate has a strong background in behavioral economics and an interest in incorporating AI tools, in particular large language models, into their research.

The candidate will be invited to collaborate closely with the PI and the co-PIs. It is a requirement for the position that the candidate has secured a tenure-track position elsewhere for which they can delay for one year to take up this position. Please note that this position cannot be extended beyond the one year period.

The Department of Economics has more than 50 faculty members and is built around a number of internationally renowned research groups in a wide range of fields, providing high quality research and teaching in economics. Besides behavioral economics, the key research areas at the department are applied microeconomics, labor economics, development economics, industrial organization, macroeconomics, environmental and resource economics, and international trade. The position is based in Bergen, but research travel will be encouraged.
