The Climate and Energy Policy Division at DTU Management, Department of Technology, Management and Economics, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in environmental economics and sustainable finance. The position is initially offered for two years, starting in 2024.

In recent years, the Climate and Energy Policy Division has rapidly expanded to become a leading research-oriented unit in Denmark, achieving international recognition in the fields of environmental, climate, and energy economics. We are committed to producing outstanding research with the highest academic and social impact and to offer excellent research conditions.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree (or be near completion of the doctorate) in economics or finance. Applicants will be reviewed based on their research and other activities in the scientific community.

The position is linked to a project focusing on climate finance, economics, and policy, led by Associate Prof. Julien Daubanes, and featuring collaboration with international partners.

Eligible candidates will have:

  • An excellent educational background in economics and econometrics;
  • A documented academic research experience in environmental economics, public economics, or finance;
  • A strong interest in empirical research;
  • A capacity to produce research publishable in leading economics journals.

Besides, the candidates' ability and willingness to collaborate effectively with the project's team will play a role in our assessment.

The position provides support for research and travel expenses. We are committed to offering the opportunity to conduct independent research. Beyond research, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in community activities such as workshops and seminars and to assist in the supervision of junior staff.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) at the time of employment.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The position is initially offered for two years, starting 1 September 2024, but we are flexible on the start date.
