Economics – 12 Month Lecturer Position

The Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus, invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Lecturer in the Department of Economics, Philosophy, and Political Science. This is a one-year full-time appointment with an expected start date of August 1, 2024 with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be a member of the Department Economics, Philosophy, and Political Science (https://epp.ok.ubc.ca/)

Applicants must have a PhD in Economics at the time of appointment. Applicants with all fields of specialization are encouraged to apply, but we are particularly interested in applicants with a demonstrated ability to teach a range of undergraduate Economics courses. The successful applicant will be expected to teach the following courses:

ECON 101 Principles of Microeconomics;

ECON 295 Managerial Economics;

ECON 386 Industrial Organization and Regulation

Additional course assignments will be based on the needs of the department. While this is primarily a teaching position, Lecturers are also expected to participate fully in the affairs of their departments and may fulfill service obligations to the University and community.

The compensation rate for Lecturers within the department ranges from $75,000 – $90,000 per year.
