Salary: starting at £45,585 to £61,198 per annum.

We invite you to join University of Sussex’s award-winning Business School and high-ranking Department of Economics. Times Higher Education ranked the Department 13th in the UK on overall research quality and 6th in the UK on impact. 97% of the Department’s research were rated internationally excellent or world leading by the REF2021 Economics and Econometrics Panel. The Department is seeking to make a Lecturer in Economics / Economic History appointment.

The position is open to candidates for the Education and Research pathway (Research and Education focused). Candidates should demonstrate potential to conduct leading edge research in economic history and applied economics. They should have a doctorate, or equivalent, in economics and related subjects. In addition to being highly research active, the successful candidates will be able to teach and assess both undergraduate and graduate students, supervise doctoral students, and contribute to departmental and university administration.

We welcome applications in all fields but we are particularly interested in economic history and applied economics.
