The Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus University invites applications for an assistant professor/ postdoctoral fellow position starting in the fall of 2025 or as agreed.

Candidates within the fields of international economics and industrial organization are invited to apply. The position is funded by FIND, a research center focusing on firms and industry dynamics.

We do have a special interest in the following fields: (i) International economics and industrial organization focusing on firms, industry dynamics, worker outcomes or policy aspects, including the role of firms in the green transition and green technology adoption (ii) Applications of firm-level data or matched employer-employee register data to questions of firm performance or aggregate implications, including structural estimation, (iii) Applied theory and general equilibrium modelling of firm and industry dynamics, including IO micro foundations in international macroeconomics.

Different positions are available at the post doctoral level (typically 2 years) and the assistant professor level (4 years). Contracts can combine position types, and thus yielding extra research time. The cover letter should describe the preferred position type applied for.

We offer favourable conditions regarding research facilities, data access, time devoted to research, travel support, etc. For non-Danish researchers, a favourable tax-scheme exists.

The Department of Economics and Business Economics has around 120 faculty members covering the fields of Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Logistics and Operations Research, Business Analytics and other fields. The department faculty is international, and the working language is English. The department hosts several research centers providing an active research environment and the department has several seminar series with ample influx of visiting researchers. The Department of Economics and Business Economics services several undergraduate and master-level programs. The PhD program has an annual intake of around 15 to 20 students. Interviews will be conducted through the European Job Market virtual meetings mid December, and candidates may subsequently be invited to give a job talk at Aarhus University starting January 2025.
