College Research Assistant Professor in Commercial Agriculture and Production Economics Date Available: January 2025
Title: College Research Assistant Professor, Commercial Agriculture and Production Economics. College research faculty hold non-tenure track faculty appointments.
Principle Duties: The Center for Commercial Agriculture and Purdue University has a long history of strength in the area of farm management and production economics. To help maintain this competitive advantage, the Center is seeking a self-directed candidate to develop an internationally recognized program of scholarly research and outreach in farm management and production economics. The person filling this position will be expected to develop a highly visible applied research-based program including acquisition of external funding and development of innovative educational delivery to key stakeholders. Responsibilities include working with the Center’s advisory council, providing leadership to key Center and Department programs, working with other faculty and staff to deliver high quality research-based outreach programs, and supervising graduate students.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. in agricultural economics or a closely related field. Demonstrated interest in the economics and management of crop and livestock farms is critical, as well as demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary work. The position requires a strong ability to communicate orally and in writing. Additionally, the person must be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and college, and with industry clientele.
