187525 - Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Department of Economics, Manor Road Building, Manor Road, Oxford

Salary: Research Grade 7, £39,424–£47,779 per annum
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Contract: Fixed-term from 1 January 2027 (with some flexibility on the start date) for 12 months, with the possibility of extension for up to a further 12 months, subject to funding.

The Department of Economics is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in theoretical econometrics and/or mathematical statistics to join the ERC Consolidator Grant project High-Dimensional Hypothesis Testing (HIDI), led by Professor Anders Bredahl Kock. The project develops new theoretical and methodological advances in high-dimensional hypothesis testing and related areas of statistical inference. Current research topics include robust estimation and testing under heavy-tailed distributions and adversarial contamination, as well as high-dimensional Gaussian and bootstrap approximations for robust procedures.

The closing date for applications is midnight (UTC) on 30 September 2026. Interviews for shortlisted candidates are expected to take place online in early October 2026.
