RAND's Economics, Sociology, and Statistics Department has openings for applied microeconomists at all experience levels. RAND economists have opportunities to develop policy-relevant research agendas across many research areas. We seek candidates with strong research potential or accomplishments in the areas of labor, defense, education, civil and criminal justice, health and health policy, aging, economic development, and environment. We are particularly interested in candidates with interest in our federally funded research and development centers focusing on defense, homeland security, and natural disaster recovery, as well as those with expertise in topics related to machine learning/artificial intelligence or cyber. RAND economists have opportunities to teach policy PhD students at Pardee RAND Graduate School. More information about economics at RAND is available from http://www.rand.org/economics/.

Applicants should have a PhD by September 2020 and demonstrated research skills, a strong interest in policy-relevant empirical analysis, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
