The Department of Economics at the University of Bonn, Germany, invites applications for an

Associate Professorship in Microeconomic Theory (W2) with Tenure Track

starting as soon as possible. Formal requirements are regulated by §36 Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen).

The initial contract runs for five years with the possibility of tenure subject to a positive tenure evaluation.

The position targets researchers who already have published in leading journals and have a strong research agenda. All teaching at the graduate level is in English. Teaching at the undergraduate level can be conducted in English or German.

The professorship is part of the Cluster of Excellence “ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy”, run jointly by the Universities of Bonn and Cologne and funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in the context of the Excellence Strategy. The overarching goal of the Cluster is to advance the understanding of market functioning and failures as well as public policy responses, employing innovative research approaches. The candidates are expected to contribute to the Cluster’s research agenda and document an interest in research approaches beyond the standard paradigm.
