Postdoctoral Researcher in the Economics of Inequality and Public Policy

The Department of Economics of the University of Zurich is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral position starting in July 2020. Applicants should have a PhD degree in Economics before taking up the position. The appointment is initially for a two-year contract, which can be renewed.

The research focus of the position is on topics broadly related to the policy implications of rising inequality. This includes, for instance, the tax policy responses to technological change, the intergenerational transmission of inequality, or its effects on the functioning of democracy.

The Department of Economics offers an exciting research environment, competitive terms and conditions, and generous research support. Knowledge of German is not a requirement.

Complete applications including a cover letter, CV, job market papers, and at least 3 letters of recommendation will be reviewed starting Nov 1st, 2019. Interviews will be conducted at the ASSA-AEA meetings in San Diego in January 2020.
