Economic Analysts at NERA will have the opportunity to:

 

  • Apply the technical skills and knowledge gained during their graduate studies

  • Conduct high-powered economic research across a wide variety of industries

Recent mandates for the EECI practice include the design of support schemes for renewable energy, the development of economically efficient pricing systems for transport infrastructure, the identification of efficient costs of capital and financing structures for infrastructure investments, and the provision of expert reports and critical assessment of opposing experts’ reports in litigation and arbitration cases.

 

We are looking for

 

  • PhD in Economics or a similar discipline with training in Microeconomics and Econometrics. Experience in relevant fields e.g. Finance, Industrial Organisation, or Operations Research would be an advantage

 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English, other languages would be an advantage

  • Strong presentation and project management skills

  • Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and the ability to solve complex problems

  • Attention to detail, outcome-oriented way of working, and the ability to quickly become familiar with new topics

  • High degree of reliability, willingness to assume ownership of work, and being a team player

  • Prior experience in applied economic research is desirable, e.g. with consulting firms, banks, international organizations, or economic research institutes

  • Prior knowledge of energy or environmental economics would be an advantage
