The Department of Economics (field of Microeconomics) is currently inviting applications for a 100% (40 hours/week) Senior Assistant Professor, tenure track (post-doc, employee subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff - Angestellte/r gemäß Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer/innen der Universitäten). The position will be limited to a period of six years, starting on June 15, 2020 (commencement date subject to change). The gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year is Euro 3,803.90).
Please note that under the terms of the WU personnel development plan, the position of Assistant Professor, tenure track, is limited to an employment period of not more than six years. For this position, a qualification agreement can be considered after a period of two years, pursuant to § 27 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (Kollektivvertrag für die ArbeitnehmerInnen der Universitäten). After successful fulfillment of any qualification agreement made, employment can be made permanent. From the perspective of organizational regulations, employees who have successfully completed a qualification agreement are to be classified as full professors.

The successful candidate's research focus should be on theoretical or applied microeconomics. He/she will join the faculty of the Department of Economics and is expected to provide a good fit to its current research environment, as well as to cultivate excellence and contribute to the research, teaching, and service activities in the department.

Applicants must either have completed their PhD or doctoral program outside of Austria or must have completed at least one year of documented academic work experience as a post-doctoral researcher outside of Austria. Non-German speaking candidates are expected to acquire knowledge of workable German.
