Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) & the MNB Department at Corvinus University of Budapest open joint (half-half) researcher position
I. About the position and job qualifications:
We are looking for excellent experienced, newly qualified, or last year PhDs in economics or related fields, who have a strong background in quantitative methods and/or central banking and/or finance, to contribute to our academic output (both regarding research and teaching) and willing to publish in the leading journals in banking, finance, data science, economics, and econometrics.

II. Application procedure:

Selected applicants will be interviewed at the European Job Market for Economists in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on December 18-19, 2019 and at the ASSA meetings in San Diego, CA, January 3-5, 2020 or at another mutually convenient place.
III. About the employer:
The Magyar Nemzeti Bank (Central Bank of Hungary) established the MNB Department at Corvinus University of Budapest in 2015 to enhance the reputation of the University as a world-class teaching and research institution. To achieve this goal, the Head of the MNB Department has both academic and professional experience. Besides his academic roles, he is also the Head of the Directorate for International Monetary Policy Analysis and Training of Economic Sciences at the Central Bank of Hungary. The institutional presence of the central bank gives an excellent research opportunity with unique data sets available.
The Department also consists of faculty members with outstanding professional experience (e.g., IMF, ECB, Bank of England, MNB) and with PhDs from top schools (e.g., from France, Netherlands, and Spain). Information on the members and lecturers of the Department may be found here in Hungarian.
