The School of Economics at Henan University invites applicants for two full-time permanent faculty position in the area of microeconomics starting in fall 2021, to join our young and growing team of faculty members with degrees from North America and Europe.
Candidates should hold a PhD in economics or a related discipline from a leading university by the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with a record or demonstrated potential to conduct high-quality research leading to publications in highly ranked journals. Senior appointments are expected to assume a leadership role.
Henan University provides excellent research conditions with a low teaching load in its undergraduate or graduate programs (teaching language: English). Salaries (including research fund and housing subsidy) are competitive and will be commensurate with qualification. Children will be granted access to the university´s daycare center and schools.
Henan University has three campuses, two in Kaifeng, and one currently under construction in Henan´s capital city Zhengzhou. Kaifeng is a city with a long history. It was one of the seven ancient capitals of China during the Northern Song Dynasty and features today many scenic spots from that time. The mid-sized city, with its 1 million population, is highly livable and affordable, combining tradition (scenic spots, night markets, recreational areas) with a modern lifestyle (shopping malls, western coffee shops).
