Call for tenure-eligible lecturer in Applied Economics.

The Department of Applied Economics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) invites applications for a full-time tenure-eligible lecturer position, involving both research and teaching, starting in Spring 2022. The position is offered in the framework of the Serra Húnter Programme (SHP), a joint initiative of the Generalitat de Catalunya with the public universities of Catalonia. Besides holding a Ph.D. degree**, candidates must also be in possession of a positive evaluation (accreditation) for tenure-track lecturers (“Lector”) form the Catalan University Quality Agency (AQU Catalunya) prior to the selection stage. The Department of Applied Economics is located in the Bellaterra campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. It offers an interesting and qualified research environment, inside the Barcelona academic pole, favouring academic interaction with all the other institutions of the area. The selected candidate is expected to be able to teach both in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, supervise postgraduate research, develop independent research programmes achieving international recognition, actively participate in the Department’s seminar series and become a member of the national and international research networks the Department belongs to. Teaching could be in either Catalan, English or Spanish.
The main teaching areas of the Department are Principles of Economics, International Economics, Public Sector Economics, Economic Policy, Labour Economics and Spanish Economy. The annual effective teaching time is (about) 150 hours per year, divided in two semesters.
The gross annual salary of a “Lector” in 2020 is 34,755€, which can be increased by means of different research-recognition programmes.
