The Adam Smith Business School is seeking to fill two posts, one in Applied Economics and one in Applied Econometrics, at the Lecturer (Assistant Professor) level. The School is entering a new phase of growth and seeks to expand expertise in several areas of Applied Economics (development, labour, environmental, urban, health) and Applied Econometrics (micro/macro/financial econometrics). For these research-focused posts we value candidates who actively combine economic/econometric theory with advanced computational and data-analysis skills. We particularly welcome applicants who have the potential to publish in the top journals in economics and their respective field, and they can also actively demonstrate policy relevance of their research findings. These posts complement multiple recent appointments at both early career and experienced levels and will play a key role in further enhancing our research capacity in applied economics and data analysis in the School which is a key strategic priority of the Adam Smith Business School and the University.

We offer an unparalleled research environment with generous resources and support for developing your career. Applicants at entry level should be able to demonstrate either an existing record or potential for publications in top-rated journals and contribute to learning and student experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Applicants at more experienced levels should in addition demonstrate a record (or potential) of securing research funding, provide academic leadership and management within the School, and actively engage in relationships with external stakeholders that advance knowledge exchange, public understanding and outreach.

For informal inquiries please contact Professor Eugenio Proto (Eugenio.Proto@glasgow.ac.uk) or Professor Dimitris Korobilis (Dimitris.Korobilis@glasgow.ac.uk).

We will interview at the EEA job market meeting, and we will also arrange some informal video interviews throughout December. In order to be considered for these interviews we should receive your application by Friday 4 December 2020. We will do monitor applications that arrive after this date, but late applications will have a significantly lower chance to lead to an interview.
