The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for a full-time (pre-doc) research assistant or postdoctoral associate (one position but can be filled at either level) for up to 10 months in our finance area, intended for placement in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, with an intended start date in summer 2021. The position will be based in Ithaca, NY.

The position is funded by an external grant intended to construct a database on the global history of banking crises, and the candidate would be involved with scholarly research related to the sponsored project. Professor Matthew Baron is the principal investigator of the sponsored project. The ideal candidate should have research experience in economic and financial history, in addition to other topics related to finance and banking. Candidates who have done archival work or worked with historical data are preferred. The ideal candidate should enjoy historical scholarship and writing.

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools: the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the School of Hotel Administration (Hotel School). The Johnson School offers MBA, Accelerated MBA, Executive MBA, and Ph.D. programs. Courses and programs are taught at Cornell’s main Ithaca campus, the Cornell Tech campus in New York City, and other locations across the globe.
