Marginal Revolution University (MRU) is building the next generation of economics curriculum for high schools and needs your help!

We are looking for an Economics curriculum designer who can develop curriculum and train teachers. Our ideal candidate would start with contract work and then transition to full-time. This position is remote-friendly.

Marginal Revolution University is an innovative online education platform that helps educators teach and students learn the economic way of thinking. We produce unit plans (e.g. Finding Equilibrium) that feature original videos, interactive practice, real-world examples, and games. Our goal is to make economics as engaging as possible and utilize the insights from cognitive science to boost learning outcomes.

This position would report to our Director of Curriculum.

Primary Duties:

  • Work with the Director of Curriculum to design and implement unit plans for high school economics classes. Assist in creating EconInbox content.
  • Arrange and lead in-person and virtual high school teacher trainings.
  • Attend and/or present at conferences, workshops, and other events on behalf of MRU.
  • Assist with partnerships to reach more high school students.
  • Represent the MRU brand to the broader community of high school economics educators.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Evidence of being a super econ nerd
  • A passion for bringing economic literacy to millions of students
  • Mastery of the principles of economics (grad degree in economics or other evidence of expertise)
  • Experience teaching economics (at the university or high school level)
  • Experience designing curriculum and applying the insights from cognitive science to the classroom
  • Experience leading teacher trainings
  • Familiarity with technology to support in-person and remote teaching
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Curiosity and passion for life-long learning
