The Department of Economics at the University of Victoria invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions commencing 1 July 2022.

For the first position, applicants must have a primary field of study in Econometrics with a strong applied research agenda.

For the second position, the Department is seeking to hire a researcher in Environmental/Climate/Resource Economics or in International Economics. Exceptional candidates in other fields may be considered only if a suitable candidate is not found in the areas mentioned above.

All applicants should have a completed PhD (or be close to completion) and must describe in their application how their research will complement or add existing research capacity in the Department (see https://www.uvic.ca/socialsciences/economics/index.php). Candidates are expected to be able to provide both graduate and undergraduate level instruction in a core area, as well as supervision and teaching in their area of specialization. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, as evidenced through course evaluations or reference letters, and must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Applicants must also arrange for three letters of reference to be submitted using EconJobMarket or email. If letters are submitted via email, please ask your referees to include your full name in the subject line of the message.
