Assistant Professorship with a research focus on Inequality

The Department of Economics of the University of Zurich is seeking to fill a position at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting September 2022. Applicants should have a PhD degree in Economics before taking up the position. Successful candidates for Assistant Professorships are appointed to three-year contracts, renewable once, with evaluation for tenure after six years.

The position is part of the University’s Research Priority Program “Equality of Opportunity”, which studies the causes and consequences of economic and social inequalities in developed economies. The research focus of the position lies in the broad area of inequality. This can include, but is not limited to, research in labor economics, public economics, economics of education, gender economics, health economics or macroeconomics.

The Department of Economics offers an exciting and collegial research environment, competitive terms and conditions and generous research support. Knowledge of German is not a requirement. In order to increase the number of women in leading academic positions, we especially encourage women to apply.
