Department of Economics and Behavioural Economics in Action at Rotman Toronto Experimental Economics Lab

Area of Research: Experimental-Behavioral Economics

Description of duties: The Department of Economics and the Behavioral Economics in Action at Rotman at the University of Toronto are offering a postdoctoral position in Experimental-Behavioral Economics. Appointment will be for two years, with a possibility of renewal for a third-year conditional on satisfactory performance.

The Toronto Experimental Economics Lab allows affiliated researchers to conduct controlled experimental studies. The successful candidate will be supervised by Professor Yoram Halevy and is expected to manage and develop the lab, assist researchers, and to teach two sections of an undergraduate course (24 academic hours each) in the department. A PhD prior to beginning the position is required.

Salary: 75,000 – 80,000 CAD per year

Please note that should the minimum rates stipulated in the collective agreement fall below the rates stated in this posting, the minimum rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Required qualifications: A PhD prior to beginning the position is required. We encourage applicants with experimental interest, and good knowledge in economic theory and experimental tools. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to collaborate with faculty and students at the University of Toronto as well as to develop their own research agenda.

The normal hours of work are 40 hours per week for a full-time postdoctoral fellow recognizing that the needs of the employee’s research and training and the needs of the supervisor’s research program may require flexibility in the performance of the employee’s duties and hours of work.

Employment as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto is covered by the terms of the CUPE 3902 Unit 5 Collective Agreement. The teaching portion of a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto is covered by the terms of the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 Collective Agreement
