HEC Lausanne, Finance Department is looking for two Post-Doctoral Fellows in Economics/Finance
Two postdoctoral fellowships in economics/finance are being offered through HEC Lausanne and the Sandoz Foundation –Programme Monique de Meuron. The Fellows will be co-founders of the first research taskforce on the economics of artificial intelligence and big data in French-speaking Switzerland and will work with Professor Roxana Mihet (link to bio). The Fellows will be actively involved in all aspects of developing, executing, and completing top quality research projects with the aim of publication in top finance and/or economics journals. Projects will be shaped based on shared interests.

• Fintech and inequality
• New technologies and labor markets
• The value of consumer data for firms
• Impact of privacy regulations on consumers and firms
• Fintech and market efficiency
• Value of order-flow information
• Value of financial data
• Information and long-run growth
• Impact of influencers for household financial decisions
• Measuring investor information
• Optimal disclosure policies
• AI regulations and the banking sector
• AI and optimal monetary policy
• Fake news
• Echo chambers
• Alternative data/social media data and economics
and others.
The fellowships will last for two years (with the possibility of 1-2 extra years). Fellows will engage in a vibrant, interdisciplinary community focused on human-centered artificial intelligence, including by participating in HEC Lausanne/EPFL seminars, conferences, and other workshops.

Up to CHF 87,000 gross depending on experience
Required qualifications:
• PhD between 08/2018-07/2022 with quantitative training and research experience in economics, finance, information systems, strategy, computer science/physics
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Interest in the economics of AI and big data
